- Trainings – We offer in-person trainings to provide school and center staff with a deeper understanding of lead and radon and how to effectively manage it. We have held two such trainings to date, with more to come, and will also make them available on our website. Our trainings are free and open to anyone.
- Technical Assistance – It can be challenging to get all the way through the process of setting up and executing testing, interpreting the results, and employing the right practices for addressing any problems that may arise. We can answer your questions, provide guidance, contacts and resources, and help you to understand how to communicate with your community about it. These services are also free!
- Mini Grants – Thanks to the generosity of The Heinz Endowments, we have the opportunity to make mini-grants available of up to $7,500 per building for testing and mitigation of lead and radon. Grants are available to facilities in Southwestern Pennsylvania, with the focus being Allegheny County. Facilities in low-income communities will be prioritized. The application for mini-grants can be found here, and an FAQ about the grants is available here.
We look forward to partnering with all of the schools in our region to provide safest, healthiest environment for our kids to grow, learn and succeed. Feel free to contact Andrew Ellsworth with any questions you may have at firstname.lastname@example.org.
