The Inspiration Station: News About This Year’s Inspire Speakers Series

It’s that time of year again!  The Inspire Speakers Series returns this October for its third season – and this year brings some changes.  Read on for more details….

Seasonal Lectures
This year, we’ll host six lectures in a fall season (October through December) and a spring season (March through May).  Any lecture can be purchased individually or you can buy season packages for an incredible value.  The entire fall season is on sale now!

A New Location
We LOVED hosting the Inspire Speakers Series at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, but this year we’re trying something new and different.  Each of our six lectures will be hosted at the Elsie H. Hillman Auditorium at the Hill House’s Kaufmann Center.   Don’t worry, the address is listed on each lecture’s webpage and our lovely Janel Everly always emails directions and parking instructions to preregistered participants prior to each event.

A New, Flat Rate
In order to make our lectures more accessible to a wider audience, we’re offering each lecture at ONE flat rate of $20 for everyone.  That price includes networking, drinks, and heavy appetizers at the beginning of the evening.

The Inspire Speakers Series Book Club
As in years past, many of our upcoming national speakers are also accomplished authors.  So we can dive deeper into our speakers’ research, theories, and philosophies prior to their lectures, we’ll be hosting related book clubs!  So far, these are planned for November (Wallace J. Nichols’ Blue Mind) and December (Jeremy Rifkin’s The Third Industrial Revolution).  Please stay tuned for more details on how you can sign up for one of them!

Now, Here is What’s NOT Changing:

Magnificent Speakers
We’re so proud each year to bring the brightest national and local experts together to share fresh insights, new ideas, and thought-provoking perspectives around sustainability and healthy communities.  This year, our speakers will all be bound by the common thread of Creating the Most Livable Places for All.

Premier Events
We pride ourselves on being the best hosts we can be so that when you spend the evening with us, you can expect a warm welcome, friendly faces, great food and drinks, and an inspiring program!

Discussion and Reflection
While we’ll be starting some of the conversations earlier this year (with our book clubs), our guests always have a chance to mingle with the speakers, purchase signed copies of books when available, and participate in a hearty Q&A session at the end of the evening.  We also typically ask volunteers to write guest blog posts, reflecting on what  they learned from each lecture.  So you can be sure that the conversations will continue far beyond the walls of the Kaufmann Center!

Now that you’ve caught a glimpse of what to expect at this year’s Inspire Speakers Series, I hope you’ll join us at our first lecture of the season on October 9th!!  Learn about the fall line-up here and purchase tickets to the October 9th event here.  See you there!
