Healthy HVAC Practices

This workshop will walk you through best practices to ensure your school’s HVAC systems are providing sufficient amounts of clean air so that students are alert and ready to learn, and teachers are healthy and comfortable.

Food Security Potluck Dinner
Join hosts from the Environmental Charter School, Just Harvest, and the Pittsburgh Food Policy Council for an evening of conversation and a shared potluck dinner. We will be discussing the work that is happening in the City of Pittsburgh to fight hunger and how we can elevate the work happening in our city through policy and collaboration with the sustainable food movement.
Educator Open House at Eden Hall Campus
Bring your families for an evening of fun. Be one of the first classrooms to sign up for an onsite Learning Expedition and learn about opportunities for classroom partnerships and professional development opportunities. Geared towards 6th–12th grade teachers of any subject. This event is limited to the first 40 registrants and will repeat in the fall.
Conference for Educators: Committed to Rethinking Education
Join ECS for a two-day conference to re-imagined education - designed for and by ECS educators. Our focus is to collaborate with teachers through workshops and to provide the tools to move toward a more innovative approach in classrooms around the region. Our world becomes the canvas for inspiring innovation in educational experiences and engaging students in new ways of learning.
Green Workplace Challenge, presented by Sustainable Pittsburgh
Commit to making southwestern Pennsylvania a better place to live, work, and learn by signing up for this year’s Pittsburgh Green Workplace Challenge! Participation in this free competition provides a real-world learning opportunity for students that complements science, math, and environmental education curricula. Participation also helps your K-12 school save money through greater efficiencies in resource use. You can still register for the challenge as an Observer, and receive nearly all of the benefits and technical support.
